It's a MYTH!

Josh Hutcherson will be playing Peeta! I apologize for my gullible sister.
How was your weekend? I had three scheduled tennis tournaments this week. 2 out of the three were canceled due to weather. BOOoo! But I did order a new tennis bag...
It's the Wilson Pink Tour 9-Pack.
You like?

I JUST DIED.

My younger naive sister just told me that Josh Hutcherson was not playing Peeta in Catching Fire. I am now locked in my room and engulfing myself in research. I refuse to believe this.

Such a Long To-Do List!!

I have to-do lists everywhere. My calendar is FULL, you can barely see Edward Cullen and Jacob Black (yes, I have a Twilight Calendar)! I have more on my dresser, in my purse, on my ipad, ipods, phone... everywhere! Other than reminders to do laundry (I hate doing laundry by the way!) or studying for some test, I have projects that I want to finish or start.. And with a quick 5 minute look at Pinterest (DIY & Craft section of course!!) I have an even longgerrrr list. GREAT.
Side note: I used to tell myself and others that I would never become addicted to Pinterest like all the other females.. and here I am.. on Pinterest on my free time. *I now hold my head in shame. You get on Pinterest often too?
These bookmarks are EVER so cuuteee! and they look so simple to make as well :)
Maybe I'll make them this weekend?

I've wanted to make a magazine/cardboard frame for a while now.. Aren't they awesome?
I'm actually working on a couple gourd projects at the moment! Of course I'm not finished with them..

I'm also working on a few wire sculptures. Mine are not this large or phenomenal! I'm making ballerina statues for my dancer friends.. don't tell them shhhh!

I'm ALSO working on mugs similar to these. Same basic design.. LOVE THEM!

Oh how are you guys liking this updated blogger?

Poem Tootin' Tuesday- Time for a lil Shakespeare!!

I love Shakespeare. I always felt out when my friends would whine when the teacher would hand out Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet or Othello, and I would silently cheer in my head! Do you like Shakespeare? (And no, I did not pick this sonnet just because it has "twilight" in it.. but Shakespeare. nice touch. I applaud you :) )

"That time of year thou mayst in me behold"
That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou see'st the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth from the west;
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death's second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire,
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the deathbed whereon it must expire,
Consumed by that which it was nourished by.
This thou perceiv'st, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.

Random Thoughts that i want out of my head before i go to bed.

1. Have you ever heard of Evan's disease? I haven't either. Until this afternoon when I found out more about the months my mother spent in the hospital literally gripping life. I always knew that she was so close to dying, but I never wanted details because it was such a sensitive topic for her. Today she opened up.. and I took advantage of that and asked a billion and two questions.
2. I found out that maybe I want to pursue a career in this..
3. Evan's disease: a rare autoimmune disease (autoimmune meaning that the immune system/body mistakes a regular substance normally found in the body for a pathogen, or basically attacks its own cells) "in which the body makes antibodies that destroy red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells." And hopefully you remember, back in health class, what the teacher taught us about why red, white blood cells and platelets are necessary for survival. Platelets: basically form blood clots to stop a cut from bleeding. White blood cells: defend and fight off infections and diseases. Red blood cells: deliver oxygen.
4. There is no known cure for this. Should I pursue this?
5. Night. Lots to think about. My mother's almost death sentence story will be for another blog post.
Thanks for listening *or reading

This is life, not Burger King. You can't have it your way.

Yeahh I know I can't have it my way, but I am still gonna dream.
My Dream Destinations:
Italy (learn about the ruins and see St. Peter's Basilica)

Mexico (visit my family)

Africa (and go on a safari!)

Greece (see all the ruins)

France (see the Eiffel Tower at night and the Louvre)

Now I want to take this next trip within the next few years..
First, I want to go to Idaho Falls where much of my beloved cousins live and then travel up to Seattle, Washington. I'm such a small town country girl and love where I live, but I also think that the cityscape of Seattle at night would be a great thing to see. I'm also a huge Twilight nerd and want to have the ultimate "Twilight experience!!" My trip consists of driving down to  Tacoma and Olympia and then up to Forks, Washington. I want to hike around the forest just like Bella did and spend a couple days there, taking billions of photos! Then end the trip in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Capilano Suspension Bridge would be an amazing way to end the trip...

Happy Peom Tootin' Tuesday!!!

I put my addiction to Angry Birds to a good use!
What I did here was get a chunk of wood and slam a random license plate into it. This piece def challenged my patience.
Unfinished Self-Portrait
Unfinished Native American-inspired pottery
This one's a funny story. When this fell from my hands I laughed and walked away!! Did I clean it up? Nope. I think I was in shock. I'm pretty disappointed now. It would have been one of my best pieces. It was supposed to be a vase shaped like a castle. It had the balcony and everything..
The butterfly mugs I made my sisters for Christmas
I'm such a huge Rafael Nadal fan. Mostly because my name is on his tennis fan bag!!!
One of my maaany favorite clutches
Marker sketch
And now for the poem!!
This day in 1866, the American Society for Animal Cruelty was founded in New York City, the first humane society in America! Since then they have come to the rescue of numerous animals.

People Zoo by Shel Silverstein

I got grabbed by the elk and the caribou
They tied me up with a vine lassoo
And whisked me away to Animaloo,
Where they locked me up in the People Zoo.

Now I'm here in a cage that is small as can be
(You can't let wild people just run around free),
And I'm fed bread and tea at a quarter to three,
And the animals all come and gander at me.

They point and they giggle and sometimes they spit
(There's bars on my cage, so they can't poke or hit),
And they scream "Do a trick," but I stubbornly sit,
Not doin' nothin'... but thinkin' a bit.

So if you come visit, just howl, honk, or moo
And try to pretend you're an animal, too.
'Cause if you're a person, they'll throw you into
Cage Two of the zoo here in Animaloo.

I Respect Gale but . . . .

1. I'm sooo Team Peeta.
2. I convinced this (older) lady at my parish to read the Hunger Games, and oddly enough she did! HAHA! We were discussing it.. you know, what "team" you are.. and she said that she LIKED Gale! What?! I probably had a few flies come in and out of my mouth while I stared at her, questioning her sanity. Now remember, I have read all three books (in 3 or 4 days.. how long did it take you to read the series?) but never, not even once, ok maybe once, liked or had any form of admiration for Gale. The one time being when he promised to take care of her family in the first book. We spoke about this and now I guess where all those "Team Gale" fans are coming from.
(SPOILER ALERT) Her side was this: Gale "loved her more" because he knew that Peeta was better for her. He knew he could never come back so she would end up with Peeta. And there's no way that Peeta wouldn't come back for her and take the best care of her. I guess this reminds me of the story in the Bible. When the two women wanted the baby so the King said to split the baby and half so they could both have the baby. It was a test. One woman decided to give up the baby in order to not hurt it. She proved to love the baby the most by letting go. This is kind of like the saying, "If you love them, you love let them go." Ugh. I'm still Team Peeta 100%. But I understand Gale and his reasoning better.
Gale or Peeta? The choice is yours..

Blake Shelton!!

I have been to quite a few concerts in my time, but never have I enjoyed one so much! The other day I went to a Blake Shelton concert (below are some of the many pictures I took)!! Ahmazing!! He is quite the entertainer!! We were late and missed Tia Frampton boo! But Justin Moore was greaaaat! (Second time I've attended one of his concerts btw) It was such an effervescent night!!

Random Post to Match These Past Random Days.

I can't wait for summer! I'm on Spring Break with my family... and of course it's snowing! Whatta Spring Break! I not only love getting tan in summer.. but I love that feeling when you have no idea what day it is! You just get up, go to work and put on sun screen! (at least that's what I do)
BTW my sister showed me this video. It's quite ridiculous.

Good Friday

These inspiring words are from the Station of the Cross booklet, "Everyone's Way of the Cross" published by Ave Maria.

"...Remind me often
that in carrying my cross,
I carry yours with you.
And though I bear a sliver only
of your cross,
You carry all of mine, except a sliver,
in return."

"...Make me content with all my discontents..."

"...Lord make me realize
that everytime I wipe a dish,
pick up an object off the floor,
assist a child in some small task ,
or give another preference in traffic or the store;
each time I feed the hungry,
clothe the hungry,
teach the ignorant,
or lend my hand in any way-
it matters not to whom-
my name is Simon.
And the kindess I extend to them
I really give to you..."

"...Where is my bloody face you ask?

At home whenever eyes fill up with tears,
at work when tensions rise,
on playgrounds,
in the slums,
the courts, the hospitals, the jails-
wherever suffering exists-
And there I look for you
to wipe my blood and tears..."

"...May gentleness become my cloak..."

"....No matter what my past has been
I can begin anew..."

"...My God! My God! Forsake us not!
We know not what we do..."

"...I beg you, Lord,
help me accept the partings that must
come... most of all (of)
my dear ones when you shall call them to yourself

Then give me grace to say:
"As it has pleased you, Lord,
to take them home,
I bow to your most holy will,
and if by just one word
I might restore their lives
against your will
I would not speak."

Grant them eternal joy..."

How Fond I am of April Fool's Day!

The following list are some of the pranks I pulled on my family and friends. The best is last, of course.
1. Put a rubber band around the sink nozzle... classic.
2. Put salt on my sisters' tooth brushes.
3. Set all the alarms and stereos for 2:22 pm with an obnoxious doorbell ringtone.
4. Placed bubble wrap in between the blanket and sheets on my sister's bed.. she was pretty shocked :) .
5. Changed my birthday on Facebook to April 1st (you will not believe how many people fell for it)!
(sad thing is that Facebook won't let me change my birthday back haha!!)
6. Taped my mom's phone underneath the dining room table (while on high and not on vibrate). So she was looking everywhere for it, while her show is on, could hear it but could not see it hahaha!! That won the award for best/funniest prank reaction!

Now I am known to be a prankster.. so of course my family and friends tried to get me back.
Secret: I completely forgot that it was April Fool's Day! I admit that at the end of the day I walked to my bed with my head held in shame. haha.
Here are some of the MANY pranks that were pulled on me!
1. Notes from "A" everywhere!
2. My bed was completely covered in suran wrap.
3. My milk had an enormous amount of mayonnaise in it (disgusting by the way).
4. When I wake up I always walk to the kitchen with some slippers, so my sister put putty in my slipper! giving the allusion that there was a rat in there.. man did she get me gooood!
5. This one was a shocker and I should have seen it coming! Suddenly, everyone at dinner was looking at me.. and my friend was "playing fruit ninja" but had her phone in an awkward angle so I thought she was recording me... I thought nothing of it because we were at a church dinner! So I get one of the chocolate truffles that look good enough to be finger-licking worthy! Everyone is watching.. I take a bite.
And my teeth get stuck in the truffle. I try to take a bigger bite.. when I realize that the inside of the truffle is made of cotton balls. Greaaat. I have never been pranked so badly. Brownie points for them though!!
I hope your April Fool's Day was as exceptional as mine!
